Why we are here.

Natalie and I have a 13 year old daughter with autism and some elements of psychosis. Her diagnosis has only been recent due to the many differing opinions of the doctors who have seen her over the years.

These opinions have ranged from nothing wrong to autism to psychosis to intellectual disability to some of all of them. We were lucky to have Doctor Alisdair Vance of the Royal Children's Hospital take over her case early this year and he has been able to push to get a proper diagnosis.

He was able to get our daughter admitted to "Banksia" here in melbourne where she spent a period of 5 weeks. Since she has come home there has been some improvement in her condition due to her taking some medications to settle some of symptoms she was exhibiting.

She has also been accepted into a special development school for this year after alot of lobbying by Natalie which included going to the office of Lynne Kosky and speaking with her to get the funding pushed through.

How are things going with your daughter and her new school? Is she finding it easier now she is in a specialized environment?
